I have very lightweight glasses and enjoy water sports. Having fallen off a paddleboard recently (I claim to my more athletic adult children there was a strong gust of wind, in reality, they are just better than me), I decided it would be wise to get a floating strap. This certainly looks the part, bright colour so if it does slip over my head after I take a take a plunge they will be easy to see floating on the surface instead of them disappearing into the murky depths only to be found by a keen eyed scuba diver. There is one issue, my glasses, being lightweight, have a very thin arm, less than 5mm (1/4”) whereas the minimum is 1/3”. My fault completely, this size is mentioned in the description, but I just missed it hence I’m voting 5* because it’s a good product, but mention it in case others have the same type of glasses. I do have an older pair of glasses with a thicker arm I can use with these as an alternative to my normal glasses.I did see another 3* review with the same issue, which I though was harsh, the reviewer should have gone to Specsavers as they missed that size the description too. I did try their solution of wrapping tape around the sleeve, but the sleeve is strong rubber and does not shrink at all so not a solution for me.I bought this to assist while running. I am extremely short-sighted and have to run in glasses. There is no doubt that the strap keeps my glasses on. However, I note the following: it seems to me that my head gets hot, I sweat across my head more and as the run progresses the strap becomes somewhat uncomfortable ... so I find myself adjusting it during the run (which is easy to do). As I am someone who gets hot whilst running (I have run for more than 40 years) these maybe unique to me.As a result, after using about 5 times, I no longer use them.I got two of these for myself and my husband . We went away for our honeymoon and last time we visited the same location , we went down some rapids and my glasses came off. We almost lost them but somehow he managed to find them. I can’t see a thing without them but his vision is slightly better , but we thought we would buy two anyway to be safe. They’re quite chunky but do the job . It’s not really a fashion show in the water so we didn’t really mind . They are very supportive and the silicone straps on their side really so hope your glasses on and the material round the back doesn’t scratch your head , they’re very soft .The end rubber retainer is comparatively large and did not hold the arm of my specs securely, however different arm designs will be OK, I resolved this issue by applying electrical tape to the end and tightening the grip - and heh presto they workThe Floating glasses strap are obnoxiously coloured so you can find your glasses on the ocean and have good tubing to hold your glasses in case. The flotation they offer is fairly minimal - my very minimal plastic lens glasses didn't sink but pulled down with the orange just about staying on top of the waves. The orange was very visible in the clear lagoon water I was in. It definitely works I would just wish for a bit more buoyancy.
