We own several of the Chablis/Chardonnay Vinum glasses, and I was trying to replace a broken glass. The Chablis/Chardonnay glasses are no longer shown on the Riedel website, only the Viognier/Chardonnay model. An Amazon reviewer stated the the two glasses were identical. They are not. The Chablis version has a wider bowl than the Viognier version. The difference is small, but obvious. There are still Chablis/Chardonnay glasses available in the 8-pack if this is important to you. Since we use these glasses for Chardonnay, I would have preferred the somewhat wider bowl.I received the wrong product but I was fine with that. Instead of the Chardonnay/Viognier glasses, I received the Cabernet Sauvignon glasses. To be fully clear, I ordered these when they were quite cheap - so I did not feel the need to return these. Beyond that, the quality and glass is absolutely amazing. I love Riedel glasses. If you know how to take care of them, they will last a lifetime. Knock on wood, but I have yet to break one (I own more than 200 Riedel glasses). To wash them, I do wash them by hand (delicately). What I have found is that if you wash these right away after drinking alcohol in them, you run a higher risk of breaking these because alcohol makes the glass softer. If you wait the next day, you are less likely to break your glasses.Great for whites, but I love for Reds. Especially when you want a smaller pour. Wider rim gives you plenty of the bouquet. Big enough to swirl.Have had Reidel Vinum wine glasses (different shapes) for nearly a decade. These have a clean simple appearance which has remained up to date and can be paired with both casual and elegant plate settings. The glasses are delicate and we wash these by hand; however, over the years a few have broken as result of being dropped on tile. Riedel keeps making these glasses so it is easy to replace a broken one with a matching shape and keep the set count the same. The Riedel box for the glasses is well designed to protect them and we received them undamaged in the shipment.I work at a winery so I like to make sure my wine is in high class glasses. The Riedel glasses do not disappoint!I love how light weight they feel and how great they look in my hanging glass holder.Personally, I hand wash them and dry them with a very soft and thin towel to make sure they stay looking brand new!one glass broke from a set of eight; what to do? Bless Amazon, the Reidel glasses I ordered (2) match the seven others, even though the varietal bame was not exactly the same.Fortunately, this item arrived intact and undamaged. It came in the box it's sold in with no protection at all. I would have hesitations ordering this item again as it arrived totally unprotected.Great glasses!I've been using the two glasses I purchased for a while and noticed recently that the stem of one of them had a noticeable lean. The other was vertical as you would expect. I bought at a discount and wonder if the product was a second. I certainly expect better from Riedel. Thankfully, the taste of the wine is unimpeded.Well I guess the header says it all really. This purchase was to replace another broken glass but this time it was due to an indelicate guests handling!I generally experience breakages through washing and am trying out the fact Riedel reccomend the delicte setting on my dishwasher. So far so good. Shame about the price though.Great glasses ,worth the priceI love Riedel glasses and I already have a set for red wine. I think the vinum range is perhaps a bit pricey for a machine produced glass, but nonetheless they do make for an enhanced wine appreciation and enjoyment experience - even for a keen wine amateur like me.Lovely chrystal glasses, but for my taste, a little short in the stem. Realised this is because they are made to fit in a dishwasher. As I would never put chrystal in a dishwasher, not a requirement for me, so a touch disappointed.
